Amie's Golden Pair Story

  • Breast Augmentation

I honestly made the decision to get implants one night while out with friends.   We were all discussing size, cleavage, etc. and I was never truly upset with the breasts that God graced me with, but I wanted my breasts to be fuller looking.  I am a petite woman, 5'1, 105 lbs. and wore a 34B Victoria's Secret push up bra.  I think my breasts were actually more of an A cup, but Victoria's Secret runs small!  This is the one time you actually want to say you wear a larger size of clothing!!

All of a sudden I announced that I was going to get a boob job!  Everyone laughed thinking it was the margaritas talking.  It wasn't!!  I started my research the next day online.  I started out on the Mentor website and found the perfect size and shape breasts that I wanted. They were full & natural looking - I didn't want the half grapefruit look for me.  Then I started researching plastic surgeons in my area.  I found one immediately and made the phone call to schedule a consultation to take place the next week.

In the meantime, I happened upon a fabulous plastic surgery forum and found my new "home"!  All the ladies on the forum were immediately full of fabulous information, advice, websites, etc.  Through the forum I learned to get a few bras in the size I wanted to be, take them to my consult and try on the sizers with the new bras and some of my favorite tops.  At my consult I also had two pages of questions the ladies advised me to ask and also pictures of the breasts I liked.  My doctor was very impressed with the knowledge I already possessed and that I knew exactly what I wanted!

The doctor took measurements and advised me that to achieve the look I wanted I would need implants sized from 300-350 cc's.  I tried on the implants in different sizes with the tops I loved and decided on 320's.  I also had decided on high profiles, smooth, round and under the muscle placement.  I was schedule to have the surgery in 3 weeks.  I thought that was a life time away!  I immediately ran home, got on the forum and shared my great news!

Everyone was so sweet and genuinely happy for me!  I then asked for stories, advice, what I needed to do before the BA, etc.  I spent the next 3 weeks on the forum learning as much as I could about what to expect, how much pain, movement, etc.  I arranged for a friend to take me to the surgery and stay with me for a couple of days.  I shopped like crazy getting special pillows, easy to put on clothes for after the surgery, food - easy on the stomach and PINEAPPLE JUICE!! I learned that pineapple juice will help flush my system of all the drugs from the surgery!  It works!!

The anesthesiologist called me a few days before my surgery and explained everything he'll be giving me and doing.  I loved that!  I didn't sleep at all the night before my surgery - I felt like a kid on Christmas Eve!  Luckily my appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. so I didn't have to wait long once morning came.  I arrived at the PS' office at 7:30 a.m. the anesthesiologist came in and measured my mouth for the tube - that part kind of freaked me out!  Then the doctor & nurse came in, marked my chest with my favorite color - purple - and I changed into the gown - but I was able to leave my jeans & socks on!

I went into the operating room - it was brand new, state of the art and beautiful!  It was so much fun seeing all the equipment, the table, the lights, etc.  I loved it!  Then the anesthesiologist put some numbing ointment on the area where the IV was going in (that was the only part I was scared of) - I didn't feel the needle at all!  Then he gave me some happy juice while he mixed up the more potent formula needed for surgery!  He also explained that he was putting in some nausea medicine so I hopefully wouldn't be sick after the surgery.  I was just having too much fun on the happy juice - laughing and cracking the funniest jokes I've ever told (ok, so they probably weren't really all that funny - but they were to me!!).

The anesthesiologist told me to count backwards and I think I made it to 8!  Next thing I know the nurse is waking me up and I'm whining like a kid that I don't want to wake up!  I LOVED that sleep - it was the best!!  Then the next thing I know I'm in a wheel chair and the doctor is asking me what my pain level was.  My chest burned, but it was only about a "5" so they gave me a Percocet and I was on my way home!  That was at 11:30 a.m.!!

I got home and immediately got online to tell all my "boobie buddies" that I had made it, wasn't in much pain and I had BOOBS!!  I did go right to bed after that and slept for a few hours. When I woke up I had my friend take pictures of my new boobs!! They looked a bit like shiny torpedoes, but I had BOOBS!!  I posted the pictures on the forum and spent the next few hours recapping my experience to the forum.  I felt great, very little pain, no nausea!  The pain was really just being uncomfortable - I can't say it was real pain.  My boobs dropped and fluffed in about a month.  My PS made the pockets so that there wasn't much dropping to do.

I was back doing light hiking in 2 weeks and full blown hiking at 3 weeks!  I couldn't believe how easy my Breast Augmentation was - I still sometimes feel guilty when I read about the problems others have had.  I would totally do it all over again!  It has been over 2 years now and I still LOVE them and I'm still chatting with all the beautiful women on the forum!  These are literally the best women in the world!!  My wish is that everyone would have such a great experience as I did.  But no matter what your experience, I'm just so happy we have the knowledge and skills to change what we don't like about ourselves.  I'm all about doing whatever it takes to make us feel our best!
