She warned me then that ps would NOT operate if my diastolic (bottom number) was above the mid 90s (mine was in the 101-105 range). So ps comes in, after more waiting, talks to me about my bp, draws on me, and I go back to pre op to continue to keep an eye on my bp. Machine was set up to take it automatically every 5 minutes. After about 4 rounds, the anesthesiologist came and talked to me about getting my IV started. So, I'm thinking my bp must've come down. PS comes back about 3 rounds later (my bp is still being checked every 5 mins) and tells me that he will NOT perform the surgery today, due to my bp and the increased risk of bleeding. :frown: I'm so glad that my health and healing are top prioritiy, but so bummed out that we had to drive all the way back home without having the surgery. They've prescribed me some xanex (sp) for anxiety, and we rescheduled for next Wednesday, July 8 at 9am. Very sad....

I am so sad that you both were disappointed but glad that your PS was mindful of your elevated BP. Have you ever been diagnosed with hypertension?
I'll place your new date on our surgery calendar if you like. Just let me know.
Take your anti anxiety medication as ordered and this will help your BP too.
