Default Two Questions

Through moving back to FL and other events going on in my life, I wasn't able to get my nine month checkup after my breast reduction. Everything is still healing okay, still have no feeling in the boobs except for the nipples and upper chest. Is it alright that I missed that checkup?

I know the numbness may continue for a while, and may never return. I had the surgery in January of 2009, so it's been about two years now. I did get some little shooting pains the other day in my right breast area, but I don't know if that means anything.

I was also wondering if I should be using anything to help the scars heal, like Bio-Oil or something.

As long as you are not having pain or actual healing issues, I'd say it was ok to not have your 9 month checkup.
It can take a long long time to get feeling back in the lower parts of the breasts, so don't give up hope yet.
Did the shooting pains feel like bee stings? If so, they were probably zingers and that means that some nerve(s) are firing up again ... a good sign for getting more feeling back.

Lots of girls here have used Bio-Oil and other various scar healing products and have had good results with them. I didn't use anything at all and my scars (esp. after the 2d reduction) are fading, some are white lines already (after a year or so). If you are not allergic to any of the scar products' ingredients, IMHO it couldn't hurt to try them if you want to. Please keep us posted on your progress, 'k??

We have check-up with our PS's to make sure that everything is going along the way its ment too, also to check that there isnt any problems. If you dont go to them and there are problems the PS then might say "well you didnt come along to your appointments so its not my fault that you are having problems."
The shooting pains a good, this means that you still have nerves reconnecting. I had my redo 7 1/2 months ago and I am still numb from the areola down. I still too get the shooting pains.
I used Bio Oil too and I think its great stuff.

Glad to hear from you. My PS had me use vit e oil but only after the incisions were all healed.

Lots of PS don't require that you come back after a 3 or 6 month check-up. Unless you are having a specific problem, I don't think skipping it hurt anything. HTH
