Exclamation Silicone gel reduces scarring

From CosmeticSurgeryTimes

Something new on the horizon for scarring!

Silicone gel reduces signs, symptoms of abnormal scarring

Jun 1, 2008
Cosmetic Surgery Times

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International has launched the Dermatix Ultra Advanced Scar Treatment for preventing and reducing the appearance of hypertrophic and keloid scars. The company suggests that this clear, fast-drying silicone gel is ideal for minimizing or decreasing signs and symptoms of abnormal scarring and for helping to prevent and reduce hypertrophic scarring following surgery.

Dermatix Ultra Advanced Scar Treatment is being made available to patients without a prescription through dermatologists and plastic surgeons and via online beauty retailers.

I wish I was on the forums this summer! I bought Scarguard for my scars that is suppose to do the same thing. Are there any studies that prove this stuff really works?
