Power assisted liposuction is not an added technique, like tumescent or Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction.  Power Assisted Liposuction is basically suction assisted liposuction (SAL) with an added dimension.  It has special equipment to give the cannula the power necessary to dislodge fat instead of the surgeon's physical force and energy.  The cannula on the PAL technique vibrates at 4000 vibrations/minute to easily break up the fat for suctioning. 

Power Assisted Liposuction is less tiring to the surgeon than the other forms of liposuction.  The tip of the cannula vibrates rapidly which makes the liposuction easier on the body because it loosens fat and fibrous tissue and allows them to be suctioned away.  The cannula is specialized which allows for smaller incisions and reduced recovery time.
